Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an admissions/registration professional to support patient intake, insurance verification, and documentation for timely admissions.

The role requires a high school diploma (associates preferred) and the ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and clinical staff in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and enters demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
  • Meets with patient or caregiver before or after admission to exchange information and documentation.
  • Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
  • Communicates with admitting physician’s office, nursing unit staff, and other personnel regarding admission and placement.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.
  • Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up.

How You'll Contribute
