Job summary

Tarzana Pet Clinic in Tarzana, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician with at least 1 year of experience. You will support outpatient and hospitalized patients with nursing care, vital signs, IV catheters, and medication administration, under the supervision of veterinarians.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Certification as CVT, RVT, or LVT or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and treatment for outpatient and hospitalized patients.
• Obtain and record patient histories, weights, and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and surgery.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications as directed.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Perform radiographs and other diagnostics as trained.
• Monitor anesthesia and provide recovery care.
• Assist veterinarians with surgical and dental procedures.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments, and home care.
