Job summary

Valley Humane Society (VHS) in Pleasanton, CA seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our surgery center team. You’ll work closely with veterinarians to prep for soft tissue surgeries, monitor anesthesia, assist with dentistry, and support patient recovery.

This part-time role offers opportunities to expand clinical skills, perform patient care, administer medications, and educate clients in a compassionate, fast-paced environment at VHS.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed veterinary technician.
• 1-2 years in a veterinary medical environment.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Surgically preparing patients for soft tissue surgeries (spay/neuter, enucleations, amputations, and more).
• Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with dentistry.
• Handling and logging controlled drugs and supporting patient recovery.
• Administering medications and vaccinations.
• Providing community support and client education.

Basic Requirements:

1-2 years in a veterinary medical environment.

Work Schedule:

Part time, - great for tech’s that need an extra day of work. Ideally, Mondays or Fridays.
