Job summary

Founders Green Animal Hospital in Denver, CO is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving pets’ lives.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Veterinary Technician (RVT).
• New graduates welcome.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide status updates for hospitalized patients and give home care and post-op instructions, guiding clients as needed.
• Educate clients on preventive care, wellness by age, vaccine requirements, and discuss estimates and financial commitments.
• Greet clients, escort pets to exam rooms, and coordinate with front desk to ensure smooth transitions.
• Restrain animals safely and assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures; prepare patients for surgery.
• Maintain sterile, organized treatment areas and hospital equipment; keep rooms clean and stocked.
• Maintain accurate patient records in a paperless system, including vaccinations and notes.
• Assist with dispensing medications, prepare labels, and package medications.
• Follow safety guidelines and assist with injections, basic procedures, and emergency care.
