Veterinary Urgent Care of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA is seeking a passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. The ideal candidate holds an active California license and has at least two years of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.

You will support medical and administrative tasks, assist care coordinators, and communicate clearly with clients and doctors to deliver high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Care Coordinators with answering phones in a professional, compassionate tone.
• Liaise between doctors, clients, and patients to ensure clear communication.
• Maintain the flow of each patient visit and keep clients updated on progress.
• Carry out daily callbacks to check on patients and answer client questions.
• Support all healthcare team members as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

About you:

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with an active California license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, ideally in Urgent Care or Emergency medicine

Essential Job Functions:

Medical

• All California RVT medical-related job abilities
• Will train as needed

Administrative

• Assist Care Coordinators with answering phones as needed, using a professional and compassionate tone at all times
• Work with technology to ensure efficient workflow
• Act as a liaison between doctors, clients, and patients
• Obtain client and patient information for medical records
• Send messages to clients as needed
• Keep in consistent contact with in-hospital team members (via chat and/or phones)
• Maintain the flow of each patient visit. Understand where each patient is during every step of the visit process, and consistently keep clients updated
• As needed, assist with performing daily callbacks to check on patients and answer client questions
• Assist all other healthcare team members as needed
• Other duties as needed/assigned

Schedule:

• Weekly: four 10-hour shifts, including one weekend day
• Some holidays required
