Job summary

Asheville Veterinary Associates - South is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle professional client communication, obtain medical histories and document symptoms, and perform laboratory procedures including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecal tests.

Additional responsibilities include diagnostic imaging and ensuring safety protocols for staff.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT licensure required.
• Strong communication skills and good judgment required.
• Ability to manage stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Client communication and education, obtaining medical histories and symptoms.
• Laboratory procedures including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals.
• Diagnostic imaging and implementation of safety protocols for staff.
• Restrain patients, administer medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, apply and maintain bandages, perform IV catheter placement and venipuncture, assist with surgery prep and anesthesia monitoring.
