Registered Veterinary Technician - Northside Emergency Pet Clinic

PetVet Care Centers’ Northside Emergency Pet Clinic in Westminster, Colorado seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 emergency team. The candidate will support hospital operations by delivering high-quality veterinary care, assisting during surgeries, performing diagnostic procedures, managing patient records, and providing client communication.

Full-time candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on emergency care including triage, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, anesthesia monitoring, and more.
  • Assist veterinarians in critical cases and surgical procedures.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients with attention to detail and compassion.
  • Communicate clearly with clients about treatment plans and patient updates.
  • Support a collaborative team environment while maintaining the highest standard of patient care.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology preferred.
  • Certification: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary care, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
  • Proficiency in animal care, diagnostic procedures, and medical record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Conducting examinations, taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, and assisting with surgeries.
  • Performing laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and assisting with emergency procedures.
  • Providing updates to pet owners and ensuring clear communication regarding patient status.
  • Accurately documenting patient information and maintaining up-to-date medical records.
  • Ensuring all medical equipment is properly maintained and sterilized.
  • Working closely with veterinarians and support staff to provide cohesive patient care.
  • Shift availability: day (8am-6pm / 9am-7pm), swing (11am-10pm / 2pm-12am), overnight (10pm-8am).

Pay Range

$28.80 – $35.20 USD
