Acequia Animal Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician with hands-on surgical experience to join our team. You will assist in anesthesia, patient prep, monitoring, dental procedures, and post-operative care, while educating clients and maintaining meticulous records.

Formación

• Current RVT/LVT/CVT credential in good standing.
• Previous veterinary technician experience with strong surgical experience.
• Confident anesthesia monitoring and perioperative patient care skills.
• Strong understanding of surgical preparation, sterile technique, and patient recovery.
• Excellent communication and client-service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a busy clinical environment.
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to high-quality patient care and a clean, organized work environment.

Responsabilidades

• Provide high-quality nursing care for hospitalized and surgical patients.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including catheter placement, bloodwork, surgical prep, and anesthesia setup.
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia.
• Monitor surgical patients and communicate changes to the Veterinarian.
• Assist with surgical procedures and maintain sterile protocols.
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures.
• Obtain and process laboratory samples and assist with diagnostics.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Monitor and document patient progress during treatment and recovery.
• Educate clients on medications, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clean, organized work areas.
