Job summary

West Denver Veterinary Hospital & Wellness in Wheat Ridge, CO, seeks a skilled veterinary technician to join a compassionate team focused on prevention, early diagnosis, and advanced care for small animals. This role offers a diverse caseload with opportunities in diagnostics, emergency care, and surgery.

The ideal candidate holds a veterinary technician certification or licensure and an associate degree, with the ability to transfer credentials across states.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure required or transferable.
• Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology required.
• Ability to transfer credentials between states.

Responsibilities

• Assist in client communication and medical history collection.
• Perform lab procedures including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals.
• Operate diagnostic imaging and implement safety protocols for staff.
• Provide nursing care: restraining patients, administering meds PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, bandages, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring.
• Dental prophylaxis administration and care.

Furthermore, we are prepared to handle time-sensitive cases, offering both Urgent Care and Emergency Care services to our community. This diverse caseload ensures that you will constantly expand your skill set and remain engaged in complex medical decision-making. Position Skills

• Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring
• Proficient in dental prophylaxis
