Animal Medical Center San Rafael is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced, supportive environment, rooming patients, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, radiology, dental procedures, and assisting in surgeries.

Qualifications

• 1+ years clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Registered Veterinary Technician in CA or eligible to transfer/become licensed within 3 months of hire.
• AVMA-accredited Vet Tech program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, draw blood, place IV catheters, and assist in radiology.
• Support dental procedures, scaling, polishing, and charting.
• Assist in surgeries, anesthesia induction, monitoring, and aseptic technique.

Animal Medical Center San Rafael is currently looking to hire a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. Or be eligible to transfer or become licensed in California within 3 months of hire.A degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.Knowledge of industry tools and equipmentPassion for working with animals and their ownersExperience with proper animal handling and restraintUnderstand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skillsObtain accurate and thorough medical historiesPerform basic exam proceduresSkilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioningPerform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, chartingAbility to perform dental extractions as allowed by licensure preferredComfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX in-house laboratoryExcellent client communication/educationAdaptable to working well with current doctors and team membersAnimal Medical Center San Rafael aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care.
