Pearl Street Pet Hospital & Urgent Care in La Jolla, San Diego is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in anesthesia and patient monitoring, and will work with a diverse range of clinical cases.

Experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Pearl Street Pet Hospital & Urgent Care | La Jolla, San Diego

$28–$35/hour DOE | Full-time | 4 × 10-hour shifts | No overnights

Pearl Street Pet Hospital & Urgent Care is looking for an experienced RVT to join our growing clinical team.

We combine GP + urgent care with dentistry, diagnostic ultrasound and a growing soft-tissue surgical referral program, giving our RVTs the opportunity to work with an interesting and varied caseload.

What We're Looking For

Strong anesthesia and patient-monitoring skills are essential. Our ideal RVT is clinically strong, efficient, organized and calm under pressure.

You should be confident with:

• Anesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery
• Recognizing and communicating anesthetic changes early
• Capnography and assisted/mechanical ventilation
• CRIs, fluid therapy and higher-risk surgical patients
• Dentistry, including full-mouth dental radiographs, charting, scaling/polishing and dental extractions under direct veterinarian supervision
• IV catheter placement, blood collection and radiographs
• Hospitalized and urgent patient care
• Prioritizing effectively when the treatment floor gets busy

ER or urgent-care experience is preferred, but not required. Strong anesthesia skills, clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm and organized matter more to us.

Previous floor-lead experience is also a plus, but not essential. We're looking for someone who naturally anticipates what needs to happen next, communicates well and helps keep the treatment floor moving efficiently.
