Yukon Veterinary Hospital in Yukon, OK seeks a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. You will assist with patient triage, vaccinations, anesthesia, and diagnostics while communicating treatment plans to clients.

The ideal candidate holds an active RVT license, has 1+ year of professional experience, and demonstrates reliability, teamwork, and strong client skills in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Minimum 1 year professional experience preferred.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals as needed and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples for diagnostics.
• Perform and assist with diagnostic imaging and radiography.
• Support medical and hospitalized patients with nursing care and monitoring.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Prepare for and assist in surgery and provide anesthetic management.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with safety and ethics in mind.

Job Description

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• A Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Availability to work some Saturday shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

Additional Information

Pay Range

$20/hr+ depending on level of experience and license status
