Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active and good‑standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of Iowa.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, anesthetic Induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Surgical assistance and aseptic technique; dental prophylaxis and radiography.
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement; radiology positioning and safety.
• Medication administration and accurate drug calculations; in‑house diagnostic testing.
• Accurate medical record documentation; safe, low‑stress handling; client education.

Job description

Frey Pet Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities Include

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery

Schedule And Compensation

Compensation: $18-$23 per hour, for each hour worked

This is a flexible full-time or part‑time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday‑Friday. Saturdays are 7am‑12p on rotation (every other Saturday required).

Minimum Qualifications And Skill Set

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good‑standing Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in the state of Iowa**
