What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.

  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.

  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
  • Providence Veterinary Hospital & Clinic proudly serves Alameda, Oakland, San Leandro, and the surrounding communities with high-quality veterinary medicine and gentle, compassionate care.

We have been part of the community since 1947, when a local veterinarian began caring for pets in his home shortly after the end of World War II. As the practice grew, he built an animal hospital directly beneath his home—a unique piece of our history that remains part of our hospital today. While the building has been thoughtfully remodeled, including a major renovation in 2016, we continue to honor our legacy of providing high-quality veterinary care in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Not long after the hospital opened, we expanded with our clinic in Alameda’s West End, making it more convenient for pets and their families throughout the city to access veterinary care. The clinic was modernized in 2019.

Today, both of our convenient locations are committed to providing outstanding medical care while incorporating Fear Free and Cat Friendly techniques. Our goal is to make every visit as comfortable and positive as possible for our patients and their families.
