Job summary

Five Star Nursing in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Registered Ultrasound Technologist (RDMS) to deliver diagnostic imaging in a high-acuity clinical environment. You will perform abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular and general ultrasound studies, document findings in PACS, and collaborate with physicians to support timely diagnoses.

The role requires RDMS certification, at least 1 year hospital-based ultrasound experience, BLS, and current state licensure if required.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification required; abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast focus as needed.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital-based ultrasound experience.
• Broad range of general and vascular ultrasound studies expected.
• BLS certification required; state licensure active or pending.
• Knowledge of digital imaging systems and PACS; COVID vaccination as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across multiple specialties.
• Conduct abdomen, retroperitoneum, small parts, gynecology, male pelvis, obstetrics studies.
• Perform vascular imaging including venous, carotid, ABI/segmental pressures, arterial exams.
• Capture, analyze, and document imaging in PACS; collaborate with physicians.
• Prepare patients, provide pre-test education, and ensure discharge instructions.

Are you a skilled and detail-orientedUltrasound Technologistready to make an impact in a high-acuity clinical environment? We are seeking an experiencedRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)to support a dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will deliver critical diagnostic imaging services that directly influence patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across multiple specialties
• Conduct studies includingabdomen, retroperitoneum, small parts, gynecology, male pelvis, and obstetrics
• Performvascular imaging, including upper and lower extremity venous studies, carotid, ABI/segmental pressures, aorta, renal artery, and lower extremity arterial exams (including stents and bypasses)
• Accurately capture, analyze, and document imaging inPACS systems
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support timely and accurate diagnoses

Patient Care & Technical Responsibilities

• Prepare patients forradiographic or sonographic proceduresby assessing needs, providing pre-test education, explaining procedures, and answering questions
• Provide reassurance and support throughout the procedure and ensure patients understand discharge instructions prior to leaving the care area
• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with established protocols; accurately locate and record internal structures, including organs and blood vessels
• Conductquality control measuresto ensure optimal image quality; adjust equipment and patient positioning to eliminate artifacts
• Apply appropriate safety measures, including minimizing radiation exposure where applicable through shielding and beam limitation
• Monitor patients forphysical or emotional changesduring procedures; recognize abnormalities and immediately notify the physician
• Prepare and administercontrast agentsas required
• Accurately recordpharmaceutical dosages(as applicable to technologist scope)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)certification (abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast, based on services provided)
• Minimum1 year of recent hospital-based ultrasound experience
• Demonstrated experience performing a broad range ofgeneral and vascular ultrasound studies
• Basic Life Support (BLS)certification
• Active or pendingstate licensure(if applicable)
• Knowledge ofdigital imaging systems and PACS
• COVID-19 vaccination (if required by facility)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withPhillips EPIQ 7 or EPIQ 5 ultrasound systems
• Background inacute care, ICU, or emergency department settings
• Experience inhigh-volume or trauma-focused imaging departments
• Ability toadapt and floatbased on departmental needs

Schedule & Additional Requirements

• Shift:8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Willingness to work2–3 major holidays annually
• Flexible scheduling options may be available

Compensation & Benefits

• $60.00/hourwith guaranteed hours for consistent earnings
