Job summary

Luminis Health in Annapolis, MD is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and assist in related imaging tasks. You will ensure safety and quality standards, manage patient preparation, and collaborate with a medical team on biopsies and procedural preparations.

Required: one-year ultrasound program, CPR, RDMS in specified areas; ARRT Maryland license preferred. Position involves following confidentiality policies and maintaining equipment and records.

Qualifications

  • One-year ultrasound program completion required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • RDMS certification required (Physics, Abdomen-Pelvis, OB-GYN).
  • ARRT Maryland license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound procedures for diagnostic evaluation per regulations and policies.
  • Perform routine radiographic and ultrasound procedures per safety and quality standards.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures within designated time frame and meet quality standards.
  • Assist in biopsies of various organs and prepare patients for procedures.
  • Report equipment, staffing, and productivity issues to supervisor and recommend personnel changes.
  • Obtain pertinent clinical data before sonographic exam and manage scheduling/preparation of patients.

Education

One-year Ultrasound Technology program
CPR certification
RDMS Certification (Physics, Abdomen-Pelvis, OB-GYN)
ARRT Maryland license preferred
Registry in OB/GYN, neonatal hands, or vascular recommended

Job description

Position Objective:

Performs ultrasound procedures for diagnostic evaluation of patients in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures.

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Performs ultrasound procedures for diagnostic evaluation of patients in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures.
  2. Performs routine radiographic and ultrasound procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the special needs ofpatients.
  3. Performs ultrasound diagnostic procedures and routine ultrasound procedures within the designated time frame and in accordance with theestablished quality standards and needs of the office as well as the organization.
  4. Participates as a member of a specialized medical team in performing biopsies of various organs and in preparing patients for specificprocedures as requested by the physician.
  5. Confers with the practice manager and physician to report problems relative to equipment, staffing, and productivity and makesrecommendations on personnel matters within assigned area.
  6. Obtains pertinent clinical data prior to sonographic examination, supervises the scheduling and preparation of patients, and records significantdata.
  7. Conducts daily calibration checks in the adjustment and maintenance of ultrasound and peripheral equipment and records results.
  8. Maintains daily activities log and procedure manual; compiles data and issues monthly reports as required.
  9. Ensures compliance with organizational and office specific safety policies and procedures; maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in thework area.
  10. Demonstrates proper use of computer by entering all pertinent information upon completion of procedure and adhering to confidentiality policy.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a one-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
Required License/Certifications:
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Certification in Physics,Abdomen-Pelvis, OB-GYN by the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) required.
  • Recommend additional registry in one of thefollowing: OB/GYN, neonatal hands, or vascular.
  • ARRT Maryland license preferred.

Pay Range: $41.20 — $50 USD
