Role Description

The Registered Sleep Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Honolulu, HI. This position is responsible for performing overnight and daytime sleep studies, including polysomnography, following established protocols and standards. The technologist will prepare and educate patients for sleep procedures, apply and monitor diagnostic equipment, observe and document sleep stages and events, and adjust therapies such as oxygen and positive airway pressure as ordered. The role includes scoring studies, generating accurate reports for sleep medicine providers, collaborating with physicians and clinical staff to support diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, and maintaining equipment, safety, and quality control. The technologist will also assist with patient follow-up, participate in ongoing training, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in sleep medicine services.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in polysomnography, including setup, monitoring, scoring, and troubleshooting of sleep studies.
  • Knowledge of sleep disorders and sleep medicine principles to support accurate data collection and patient care.
  • Experience with oxygen therapy and related modalities used in the assessment and treatment of sleep-related breathing conditions.
  • Foundational understanding of medicine and clinical workflows in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Current registration or certification as a Sleep Technologist (e.g., RPSGT or equivalent), in good standing.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and comfort working with electronic health records and diagnostic software.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive patient care, including effective communication and education.
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts as needed, with reliability and professional conduct in an on-site clinical setting.
  • Prior experience in a sleep lab or neurodiagnostic setting preferred; associate or bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is an advantage.
