Wheeler Staffing Partners seeks qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) to join a dynamic healthcare team in Detroit, MI or Clinton Township, MI. The role supports patients with cardiopulmonary conditions across care settings and requires strong clinical and team-oriented skills.

The position offers full-time hours with 3x12-hour shifts (days or nights) and a competitive hourly rate of $27–$39, plus a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• CRT or RRT credential required (NBRC preferred).
• Completion of an AMA/CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Associate’s degree in Science or related field.
• High school diploma/GED with 10+ years of on-the-job respiratory therapy experience.
• Strong clinical, analytical, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services per protocols and physician orders.
• Perform therapeutic, rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Conduct patient assessments and evaluate respiratory treatments.
• Administer oxygen, aerosols, and medical gases as prescribed.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to tailor care plans.
• Educate patients on treatments, equipment use, and disease management.
• Participate in rounds and coordinate with respiratory leadership.
• Support patient transport and continuity of care.
• Train and mentor staff; may serve as preceptor or lead therapist.

Position Overview Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) to join a dynamic healthcare team. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care services across the continuum of care, supporting patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, team-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
• Perform therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures, as well as diagnostic testing for cardiopulmonary conditions
• Conduct patient assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory treatments
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and medical gases as prescribed
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including blood gas analyzers
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and disease management
• Participate in patient care rounds and coordinate with respiratory leadership as needed
• Support patient transport and ensure continuity of respiratory care
• Train and mentor staff and students; may serve as preceptor or lead therapist

Qualifications

• CRT or RRT credential required (NBRC preferred)
• Completion of an AMA/CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program
• Education Requirements (one of the following):
• Associate’s degree in Science or related field
• Completion of an approved Respiratory Care program
• High school diploma/GED with 10+ years of on-the-job respiratory therapy experience
• Strong clinical, analytical, and patient care skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Certifications & Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Must obtain Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Michigan within required timeframe
• Ability to meet on-call requirements
• Must pass background check and drug screening
