Job summary

St. David's Georgetown Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for PRN TEMP opportunities.

You will guide patients through routine and critical respiratory care, using advanced ventilation and therapy techniques in a high-acuity setting. You will collaborate with the care team, educate families, and participate in implementing evidence-based treatments while maintaining equipment and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must hold NBRC-RRT credential.
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS within required timeframes after start date.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status by focused exams, breath sounds and airway patency.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, aerosols and airway clearance.
• Manage ventilation and airways, support invasive and noninvasive modes as needed.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate with physicians and nurses.
• Maintain and operate respiratory equipment and uphold infection-control standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• Associate Degree
