Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of related experience.
• Must become certified in PALS and ACLS within 8 months of employment.
• ACLS Certification and Healthcare Provider CPR required or obtainable on the job

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments and monitor patient status.
• Perform airway and ventilator management.
• Obtain and interpret blood gas results, and document findings.
• Act as a resource to other employees and participate in quality improvement.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs Cardiopulmonary duties in accordance with hospital policy/procedure under general supervision. This can include administering of respiratory treatments, airway management, ventilator management, blood gases, and other noninvasive cardiology procedures. This individual will be held to a high level of customer service representation and will be an active participant in the continuous quality improvement process. Serves as a resource to other employees.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Three years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
