Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Active, unrestricted Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners (or immediate eligibility).
• Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, CQI standards.

Location: Great Falls, Montana | Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site

Overview

A premier healthcare system in Montana is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its cardiopulmonary care team in Great Falls, Montana. Working under the general supervision of the Respiratory Care Manager, this clinician will evaluate, treat, and support patients with cardiopulmonary disorders in a setting known for strong nurse-and-therapist-to-patient ratios.

What you'll do

• Deliver direct cardiopulmonary care including aerosol therapies, chest physiotherapy, mechanical ventilation setup and management, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, and diagnostic testing
• Conduct patient clinical evaluations, monitor treatment responses, adjust protocols in collaboration with attending physicians, and document clinical outcomes accurately
• Respond to emergency situations such as code blue, rapid responses, and trauma cases, providing critical respiratory support across all age groups and clinical units
• Educate patients and family members on disease management, home therapy equipment, and preventative cardiopulmonary health
• Adhere to departmental continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, hospital safety guidelines, and federal/state regulatory standards

Required qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Active, unrestricted Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners (or immediate eligibility to obtain)
• Active national credentialing as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• Thorough understanding of general respiratory care processes, protocols, and standard/specialized cardiopulmonary equipment
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, and continuous quality improvement standards
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and team-based clinical collaboration skills
