Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain respiratory equipment as instructed.
• Review data in patient records and orders.
• Collect and evaluate clinical information by inspection, palpation and auscultation.
• Educate patients and/or family on respiratory therapy and document.
• Respond to codes as needed.
• Evaluate ventilatory status through monitoring.
• Select and check mechanical ventilators and related devices.
• Follow department protocols for weaning and monitoring.
• Obtain and analyze ABG values as ordered.
• Conduct prescribed procedures to maintain airway and oxygenation.
• Perform patient assessment and document findings.
• Attend department meetings and in-services.
