Job summary

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the NICU to deliver professional care in a high-acuity setting.

You will perform assessments, acuity assignments, and may supervise staff; serve as a preceptor and, when needed, function as charge nurse. Requires NICU experience and current licensure as an RRT with related certifications.

Qualifications

• The NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers professional nursing care in NICU using the Nursing Process.
• You must be CPR/ACLS/PALS trained and current within stated timelines.
• 1+ year of NICU RRT experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in NICU per standard of care and nursing process.
• Assess patients, assign acuity, supervise staff and students, and act as preceptor.
• Function as charge nurse when assigned and ensure care with age/condition considerations.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers professional nursing care to all patients in NICU. Performs assessment and acuity assignment; follows standard of care utilizing Nursing Process in delivery of care; maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions. Daily assignment of an RN may include supervision of other nursing personnel and/or students. Function as a preceptor and ability to function as a charge nurse. The employee performs all services as they may relate to patient care/treatment with consideration for age/condition of patient.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP)
