The position requires an Associate degree in respiratory therapy, NBRC RRT credential, and Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, with BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications due within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy from a CoARC approved program.
• RRT credentialed through the NBRC.
• Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 90 days; PALS within 90 days; NRP within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough respiratory assessments and collaborate with the care team to develop treatment plans.
• Deliver respiratory treatments, monitor responses, and adjust care plans as needed.
• Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., blood gas) and provide emergency interventions when required.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and respiratory care practices.
• Coordinate scheduling, equipment, insurance, and communications for hospitalization and discharge.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes through assessment, treatment, monitoring of clinical responses, emergency response, and provide education to promote recovery, improved quality of life and long-term health outcomes. Registered Respiratory Therapist is an onsite position.Essential FunctionsConduct thorough respiratory assessments, collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and/or Medical Director to develop individualized treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to therapies.Deliver respiratory treatments and rehabilitation regimens, ensuring patient safety, exercise tolerance, and clinical effectiveness. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., blood gas analysis) and provide emergency interventions such as CPR, airway management, and mechanical ventilation when needed.Educate patients, families, and healthcare teams on disease management, lifestyle modifications, respiratory care practices, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.Manage program logistics, including scheduling, equipment, insurance, and communication with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care during hospitalization and post-discharge.Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request.
