Job description

Department: Respiratory Therapy


$7500 Sign-on Bonus, based on eligibility


Full-time position: 36 hours per week, 7AM-7:30PM. WEEKENDS ONLY - alternating schedules available (e.g., Fri, Sat & Sun or Sat, Sun & Mon).


Location: Henry Ford Providence - Southfield, MI


GENERAL SUMMARY


  • Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

  • Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment types and frequency; develop care plans based on diagnoses.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment; record and communicate patient conditions.

  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.

  • Evaluate respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatments based on patient outcomes.

  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community resources.

  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • Associate's or technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.

  • 3-5 years of ICU experience preferred.

  • NICU experience a plus.


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED


  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire or transfer (American Heart Association accepted).

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care prior to hire or transfer.

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) preferred.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
