Holy Cross Health Fl in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist for night shifts in an acute care hospital. The role requires a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program, Florida RRT license, NBRC certification, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of hospital experience.

You will perform floor care therapies, oxygen administration, and ventilator management; assist with intubation and extubation; draw arterial blood gases; and contribute to COPD education and tobacco

Formación

• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• At least 1 year hospital experience preferred.
• Competency in blood gas analysis and spirometry.

Responsabilidades

• Performs floor care therapies and oxygen administration following policy.
• Maintains mechanical ventilation competency in adult critical care units.
• Able to perform arterial blood gas draws from radial, brachial, femoral arteries.
• Assists with endotracheal intubation and extubation as indicated.
• Participates in COPD education and tobacco cessation counseling when possible.

Knowledge of Adult mechanical ventilation principles and current practice guidelines. Willing to work in all areas of RT including Emergency room, Adult Critical care, Blood Gas Analysis. COPD education and Tobacco Cessation counseling a plus.

Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy Program, RRT Florida Licensed, active NBRC certificate. This is a Full -time position with Benefits. Requires BLS, ACLS and at least 1 year hospital experience.

The job of a Respiratory Therapist includes:

• Performs floor care therapies and oxygen administration following proper policy and procedure.
• Performs floor care therapies and oxygen in an acute care setting.
• Performs or assists with endotracheal intubation as indicated in a safe manner
• Performs endotracheal extubation as indicated in a safe manner.
• Maintains clinical competency for mechanical ventilation in adult critical care units.
• Able to perform arterial blood gas draws in a safe and effective manner from radial, brachial and femoral arteries.

What a Respiratory Therapist Will Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program required.
• Work experience in all aspects of respiratory care preferred.
• Competency in blood gas analysis, Spirometry.
• Bronchoscopy assistance a plus.
• Registration by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.

LICENSURE:

• Current State of Florida License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the Department of Health.
• BLS, ACLS certification required.
