Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to support the Respiratory Therapy team across ICU units. You will deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and gas therapies for critically ill patients in a busy hospital setting.

Join our network to perform invasive/non-invasive diagnostics, maintain clinical expertise, and document care while coordinating with physicians, nurses, and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Associate of Science Degree, minimum; Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Recent graduate or two years of RT experience in a tertiary hospital.

Responsibilities

• Deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy to ICU patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain clinical expertise across units and document patient care.
• Communicate with patients, co-workers, physicians, and system staff about patient care needs.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and completely.
• Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to respiratory staff and students as assigned.

Role Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist, you¿ll deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy primarily to critical care patients in the Intensive Care Units. You’ll perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, maintain clinical expertise across various business units, and ensure effective communication and documentation of patient care.

What You Will Do

• Deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gases therapy to critical care patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
• Maintain clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units.
• Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and completely.
• Supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to respiratory orienteers, externs, and students as assigned.

Required Qualifications

What You Will Need

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Associate of Science Degree, minimum; Bachelor¿s in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Recent graduate of a Respiratory Therapist school or two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a Tertiary Hospital.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan (new graduates have 90 days to obtain).

• Bachelor¿s in Respiratory Therapy.
