US Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Danville, IL to collaboratively consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals for complex respiratory care. You will develop care plans to achieve favorable patient outcomes and evaluate the efficacies of various therapeutic modalities.

The role requires an RRT credential, state licensure, English proficiency, and a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed a respiratory care program accredited by the CoARC or its successor.
  • Possess and maintain a valid, current, unrestricted credential of RRT for duration of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain a full, current, unrestricted license from a state to practice as an RRT.

Description du poste

Registered Respiratory Therapist must have the ability to collaboratively consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals for complex respiratory care to develop care plans to provide favorable patient outcomes. Skilled in evaluating the efficacies of therapeutic modalities and skilled in performing advanced airway and ventilation management.

Basic Requirements
  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with 38 U.S.C. § 7403 (f).
  • Education (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Successfully completed a respiratory care program accredited by the CoARC or its successor.
  • Credential: Must possess and maintain for the duration of employment a valid, current, unrestricted credential of RRT.
  • Licensure: Must possess and maintain for the duration of employment a full, current and unrestricted license from a state to practice as an RRT.
Grade Determinations
  • Experience:
    • In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must possess at least 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09), which is directly related to the position to be filled.
  • Your experience must demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
    • Ability to collaboratively consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals for complex respiratory care to develop care plans to provide favorable patient outcomes.
    • Skill in evaluating the efficacies of therapeutic modalities.
    • Skill in performing advanced airway and ventilation management.
Preferred Experience

Previous home care experience is preferred, but not required.
