Job summary

Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a Per Diem role. You will provide respiratory care, diagnostic testing, therapies, and patient education under medical direction.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of critical care experience, NJ license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, NBRC RRT credential, and BLS/ACLS; PALS and perinatal/pediatric skills desirable. Strong computer skills with Meditech are required.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years critical care experience.
  • Graduate of approved Respiratory Program; 62 semester hours; Bachelor’s degree desirable.
  • New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner License; NBRC RRT credential; BLS required; ACLS required; PALS; perinatal/pediatric desirable.
  • Strong computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, Meditech).

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care services, diagnostics, therapeutics, monitoring and rehabilitation under qualified medical direction.
  • Participate in development of patient care plans with physicians and other health care team members.
  • Contribute to education activities, participate in research projects, and serve as a preceptor for students and new entrants.

Position Summary: Provides respiratory care services to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Under qualified medical direction, performs diagnostic testing, therapeutics, monitoring, and rehabilitation. Participates in the development of patient’s appropriate plans of care in conjunction with physicians and other members of the health care team. Partakes in research projects, preceptor for students and new orientees; conducts patient and family education activities.

Experience: 1-3 years critical care experience

Education: Graduate of approved Respiratory Program, Completed 62 semester hours of college credit, Bachelors Degree desirable.

Required License / Credentials: New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner License, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care; BLS required, ACLS required , PALS, Perinatal / Pediatric Specialty desirable.

Other Required Skills: Strong computer skills ie: Windows, Microsoft Word, Meditech

Contact With Others: Contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information or reports , requiring tact and discretion in order to obtain cooperation.

The minimum starting rate for this position is $50.00
