A JAB Recruitment has several clients seeking Registered Professional Land Surveyors to lead survey operations supporting midstream oil & gas pipeline and facilities projects. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, high-quality, and efficient survey services, while also contributing to strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, leadership experience, and a strong network within the Texas energy sector.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely without present or future need for visa sponsorship. No visa sponsorship available.
• Must be a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS), Registered in either Texas or Louisiana preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Survey Operations & Project Execution
• Oversee and manage daily survey operations.
• Ensure the accurate collection of topographic, boundary, and as-built survey data for pipeline and facilities projects.
• Develop and enforce best practices, quality control measures, and safety protocols.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Oversee company-owned and rental survey trucks and equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated and maintained.
• Recruit, train, and develop personnel to build a high-performing survey teams.
• Supervise and mentor field crews, project surveyors, and survey technicians.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on developing internal talent and ensuring strong team cohesion.

• Project Support & Coordination
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to provide essential survey data.
• Review and approve survey deliverables, including pipeline alignment sheets, ROW plats, construction staking, and pipeline as-builts.
• Ensure coordination between survey teams and project managers and/or engineering leads to meet project schedules and client expectations.

• Business Development & Client Relations
• Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new clients in the oil & gas sector.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, and schedules for survey projects.
• Provide technical expertise and solutions to clients' survey needs.
• Leverage local industry connections and reputation to enhance company market presence in Texas and surrounding states.

• Financial & Strategic Management
• Monitor department budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
• Support company leadership in strategic planning and expanding survey services in the region.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license – Texas and/or Louisiana preferred.
• Licensure in Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year
• 5–10 years of experience in land surveying, with significant exposure to midstream pipeline and facilities projects
• Proven management or project leadership experience
• Strong understanding of pipeline route surveys, construction staking, ROW plats, and facility site development
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with GPS, LiDAR, and remote sensing technologies
• Ability to travel overnight up to 25% of the time
• Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Able to work in varied weather and terrain, including walking long distances and carrying equipment

• Second-choice candidates will have 5–10 years of experience and a strong technical foundation with leadership potential.
