Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a Registered Polysomnography Technician to monitor sleep studies and assist in obtaining diagnoses. You will register patients, gather pre-study paperwork, and prepare equipment for procedures while explaining procedures to patients.

The role includes performing polysomnography studies, analyzing data, entering charges, and supporting daily department operations with some administrative tasks. Night shifts are involved.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and be eligible for or hold Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or SDS.
  • Exposure to sleep monitoring and polysomnography preferred.
  • Related healthcare and critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and gather pre-study paperwork.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for procedures and explain procedures.
  • Perform polysomnography studies and analyze data for diagnosis.
  • Enter charges and handle study equipment cleaning; assist with department operations.

Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) or Certified Respiratory Therapist ( CRT ) + Registered Polysomnographic Technologist ( RPSGT ) or SDS

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting, standing, walking, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs.

Shift

Nightshift; Three 12-hour shifts per week (Monday – Saturday); 6:0 pm – 6:30 am

Job Summary

The Registered Polysomnography Technician will provide sleep monitoring and interventions to all patients. The primary responsibilities include registering patients; gathering patient pre-study paperwork; preparing patients and equipment for procedures; explaining procedures and interactions to patients; completing follow-up notes as needed; performing polysomnography studies and analyzing data to assist in obtaining proper diagnosis; entering charges; and cleaning all study equipment.
This position will also have some administrative and clerical responsibilities for the department’s daily operations.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

APM , AEHR , EPIC , Phillips Alice 6 Respironics, and G3 software experience preferred.
