Job summary

Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician, Bilingual to support pharmacists with drug distribution and pharmacy operations at our health center.

You will work within the health center's EHR to locate information, process patient data and transactions, manage inventory, and assist with insurance billing and compliance with 340B and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with SC Board prior to start.
• Good standing with SC State Board of Pharmacy.
• ACPE immunization certification and CPR training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work within the health center’s EHR to locate information for pharmacy operations and compliance.
• Enter and process patients’ information and transactions using Pharmacy’s processing and POS systems.
• Count, measure and prepare products according to laws, regs, policies and ethics standards.
• Maintain records and reports related to pharmacy functions, volume and sales.
• Process and troubleshoot insurance billing and claim rejections.
• Assist with inventory management, including expiration date checks and cycle counts.

Position Summary

The Registered Pharmacy Technician, Bilingual will assist the pharmacist with drug distribution and pharmacy activities for the health center. The Registered Pharmacy Technician, Bilingual is responsible for following established pharmacy policy concerning drug patient care, 340B compliance, and pharmacy operations.

• Work within the health center’s EHR to locate, retrieve or process the appropriate information required for pharmacy operations and compliance.
• Enter and process patients’ information and transactions accurately and efficiently using Pharmacy’s processing and POS systems.
• Count, measure and prepare specific products according to relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and ethics standards.
• Follow provided staging procedures appropriately.
• Maintain records and reports related to pharmacy functions, volume and sales.
• Process and troubleshoot insurance billing and claim rejections.
• Assist with inventory management, including checking medication expiration dates, cycle counts to maintain correct on hand quantities and completing wholesaler and reverse distributor returns.
• Understand and follow company guidelines regarding registers, payment and transactions.
• Properly inspect any equipment within the pharmacy and notify appropriate manager of any necessary repairs.
• Adhere to safety programs and procedures.
• Report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities, except those that require the judgment of a licensed pharmacist.
• Assist in data entry, inventory, stocking, dispensing, reporting and sales of prescriptions.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Reflect an appropriate and respectful business image to customers and visitors in dress, demeanor and attitude. Never be rude to a patient or customer
• Comply with state and federal laws in regards to pharmacy, dispensing and sales of pharmacy and non-pharmacy products

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent
• No prior experience or training necessary, but preferred
• Must be bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish languages
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy prior to start date
• Good standing with the South Carolina State Board of Pharmacy
• Preferred, but not required certified through an ACPE approved immunization program and CPR training through an accredited organization
