Job summary

City of Hope in Newnan, GA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Full-Time Day shifts in the Stem Cell/Cellular Therapy unit. You will assess, plan, and document care across the malignant hematology continuum, supervise staff, and ensure infection control standards are followed.

The role requires BSN (or progress toward), Georgia RN license (or compact), BLS and ACLS within 30 days, and ONS/BMTCN certification on hire. Sign-on bonus of $10k applies.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Cellular Therapy experience (Stem Cell Transplant and/or Immunotherapy) or as deemed qualified by Cellular Therapy Leadership.
• BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire; BSN completed within three years from hire date.
• Georgia Registered Nurse License or Compact State RN License.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and renewed every 2 years.
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification or BMTCN certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care across malignant hematology and stem cell transplant continuum.
• Assist with special procedures and supervise Patient Care Technicians and other team members.
• Adhere to infection control policies (hand hygiene, asepsis, isolation, employee health).
• Communicate effectively with peers to resolve conflicts and onboard new employees.
• Document nursing care, implants, and specimens accurately and completely.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and maintain required competencies.

The successful candidate:

• Must be able to work FT Days, 7a-7p.
• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the care of patients across the continuum of malignant hematology and stem cell transplantation. Assists with special procedures. Directs the care delivered by Patient Care Technicians and other members of the healthcare team.
• Adheres to the hospital and department infection control policies including but not limited to hand hygiene, asepsis, isolation practice, and employee health practice.
• Effectively communicates with peers to resolve conflict.
• Assists in the on-boarding of new employees.
• Protects the patient’s dignity, rights, and privacy.
• Assesses the knowledge level of the patient or designated support person.
• Delegate tasks according to the Georgia Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.
• Document nursing care, implants, and specimens accurately, completely, and legibly.
• Collaborate with other disciplines as applicable.
• Maintain required competencies.
• Pursue professional growth and keep current with technology.
• Completes additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

• 1-3 years of experience in Cellular Therapy (Stem Cell Transplant and/or Immune Effector Cell), or as deemed qualified by Cellular Therapy Leadership.
• Education- BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.
• Licensure-Georgia Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State
• Certification- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site certification is required upon hire. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, stakeholders will have (30) days from the date of hire to attend an onsite initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years. See specific role for any additional requirements. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification. Stakeholders will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years. Will not be allowed to provide ACLS for patients independently until AHA ACLS cards are obtained
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certificate is required upon hire. Exempt with proof of previous ONS equivalent course or Blood & Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) certification
