Job summary

Medical City Fort Worth is seeking a Registered Nurse - Wound Care to provide holistic, individualized patient care under the supervision of the VP of Nursing. The role emphasizes wound care, documentation, medication administration, and patient education to support recovery.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing with BSN
  • Previous wound care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the supervision of the VP of Nursing, ACNO, or designee, the wound care registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care to meet the wound care needs of the patient. Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education And Training Experience Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing with Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous wound care experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
Special Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • RN with current licensure or RN with temporary permit to practice from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Wound care certification preferred
