Job summary

Registered Nurse Weekend Float Full-Time Nights at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital. This role supports weekend coverage across facilities, delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will assess patients, plan and coordinate care, collaborate with physicians and staff, and document responses while applying current nursing best practices.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills, collaboration, analytical abilities, and BLS certification are required.
• BSN or ADN with plan to obtain BSN within 3 years.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year for ER roles; TNCC within one year for Pediatric ER; ACLS for Non-Invasive Cardiology.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, develops plan of care, coordinates delivery, and evaluates outcomes.
• Directs care and assigns duties to nursing staff and assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to communicate the plan of care.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Documents patient responses and tailors the care plan based on findings.
• Uses current evidence to guide nursing practice.

The salary range for this position is $37.00 - $59.20 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Registered Nurse Weekend Float Full-Time Nights

Location: Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff. Creates a documented plan, focused on outcomes and decisions related to the care and delivery of services that indicates communications with patients, families, and others.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents the patient’s responses to nursing interventions in the health record and properly individualizes the plan of care based on the evaluation of findings.
• Utilizes the best available evidence, including research findings to guide practice decisions.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain a BSN from an accredited program within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements for the Emergency Room

• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC or TNS within one year of hire

Additional Requirements for the Pediatric Emergency Room

• TNCC within one year of hire

Additional Requirements for Non-Invasive Cardiology

• ACLS
