Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Core Flex II Registered Nurse to provide expert nursing care across a defined West-Central Illinois market, including Galesburg, Monmouth, and Kewanee. The Core Flex II RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, working autonomously with units across the WCIM to meet patient and organizational needs.

The role requires an Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS where applicable, and strong clinical judgment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired
• BLS certification per AHA requirements
• ACLS certification per AHA requirements (where applicable)
• PALS certification per AHA requirements (where applicable)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and multiple units

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care across OSF HealthCare market locations
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process
• Collaborate with ED teams across locations to ensure safe, high-quality care

Pay range for this position is $46.94 - $58.26/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.

Shift Differentials:

• 3rd shift - $4.00/hour
• Weekends - $3.25/hour

$15,000 Sign-On Bonus (external applicants)

Will float between our Emergency Departments in our West-Central Illinois Market (WCIM).

The WCIM includes our Galesburg, Monmouth, and Kewanee locations!

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Core Flex II Registered Nurse provides expert, engaged nursing care, aligned with their competencies, across a defined market or region within OSF HealthCare. The Core Flex II RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients using the nursing process. The Core Flex II RN is a highly knowledgeable, autonomous professional who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly working across various units and locations to meet patient and organizational needs. The Core Flex II RN role requires advanced clinical competence, informal leadership capability, and provides safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients across the care continuum in diverse environments.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:
  • Associate degree in nursing
• Experience:
  • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired.
• Licensure/ Certification:
  • Reg Nurse License in the state of Illinois
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Care Life Support certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
• Other Skills/Knowledge:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in work and schedule.
  • Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making ability.
  • Advanced assessment, analytical, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex patient populations across the care continuum.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or completion within two years of hire.
• Experience:
  • 2 years of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired.
  • Participation in Clinical Ladder strongly encouraged.
