Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (BSN) to provide patient-centered care in our Lake Forest, IL unit. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, document findings, and implement the care plan with measurable outcomes while collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure safety and quality.

You will educate patients and families, coordinate discharge planning, and participate in unit improvements, including safety and ethics adherence, under leadership guidance.

Qualifications

• BSN required to practice as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS certification required or current.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document thoroughly.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to care team.
• Develop and update the care plan with realistic, measurable goals.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals as needed.
• Provide patient/family education and teach-back when appropriate.
• Contribute to unit safety, quality initiatives and ethical practice.
