Job summary

Trinity Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Vascular Access (VAT) team on the night shift. The RN participates in care from admission to discharge, coordinates plans of care, and supports bedside PICC insertions and line care using a computerized platform.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and residents to ensure quality outcomes, maintain accurate documentation, and apply NYS nursing standards in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current NYS RN license required.
• BSN preferred according to NYS requirements.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient care.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Description: Night Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am

Our Vascular Access (VAT) team includes RN’s and LPN’s who provide vascular access services throughout the hospital setting. Responsible for initiation of IV placement with routine site and dressing changes, CVAD dressing changes, CVAD troubleshooting including TPA administration, accessing and de-accessing implanted port systems, administering PPD/allergy panels, consult and treatment of extravasations, teaching peers and medical residents and obtaining laboratory specimens as needed. Our nurses are experts. We have a nurse driven Line Strategy and Bedside PICC insertion team to consult, collaborate with providers to ensure the best access is utilized and perform bedside PICC insertions. Position Purpose:

The Registered Nurse participates in various roles to ensure quality patient care is provided with optimum outcomes. RN roles range from direct patient care to supervisory or consultative services in various settings within our network. Our dedicated nursing staff attend orientation classes that may include CORE EKG, end of life, respiratory care and many specialty classes depending on area of expertise.

What you will do:

• Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care through a computerized & /or digital platform supporting daily management of care.
• Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management & adult education to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care.
• Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
• Ensures quality care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Regulatory Agencies, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
• Maintains current knowledge of basic health care economics, trends and reimbursements methodologies and applies knowledge to daily practice.
• Recognizes situations that require immediate intervention. Continues to develop professionally and apply knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to each patient.

Minimum Qualifications:

• GN’s or RN’s with < 1-year experience should apply to the Graduate Nurse Residency positions.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York. Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements. Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred. Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements. Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $39.90 - $58.35 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
