Job summary

The South Bend Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Urology department in South Bend, IN. You will triage and manage patient flow, support clinical procedures, and document care in Epic.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, verifying insurance, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA. A professional, patient-centered approach is required in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program with current RN license in Indiana.
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with clinical procedures and documenting patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing triage and management of office flow to meet patient needs.
  • Perform technical component of department’s clinical procedures accurately.
  • Document all patient care fully and accurately following guidelines.
  • Greet and room patients per protocol; maintain logs for equipment.

Together, we create an environment where you can grow, contribute, and help improve the experience and outcomes for every patient we serve.Benefits:• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance.• Access to a mental health benefit at no cost.• Employer provided life and disability insurance.• $5,250 Tuition Reimbursement per year.• Immediate 401(k) match.• 40 hours paid volunteer time off.• A culture committed to community engagement and social impact.• Up to 12 weeks parental leave at 100% pay and a financial benefit for adoption and surrogacy for non-physician team members once eligibility requirements are met.RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides ongoing triage and management of office flow to meet patients medical and service needs in order to maintain optimal patient flow.Performs the technical component of the department’s clinical procedures competently.Documentation of all patient care is thorough, objective, concise, and follows appropriate legal guidelines.Communication of all patient care is thorough, objective, concise, and follows appropriate legal guidelines.Receives patients professionally in waiting area and rooms them per department protocol.Maintains accurate/current logs for equipment, i.e., refrigerator temp, autoclave, eyewash, crash cart, etc.Verifies patient insurance coverage for pre-certification, referrals and/or authorizations and documents in Epic.Applies knowledge of general insurance guidelines and requirements to help direct patient care.Appropriately responds to emergency situations (knowledge of codes).Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Education/Certification/License:Graduate of an accredited RN program with current RN license in the State of Indiana. CPR preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to work with a diverse patient population. Highly organized, computer skills, ability to multi-task, and enjoys a fast-paced work environment. Assist with clinical procedures specific to department. Prior experience is preferred.Artificial Intelligence DisclosureArtificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used in some portions of the candidate review process for this position, however, all employment decisions will be made by a person.
