Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This 14-week temp position features 12-hour shifts from 1P to 1A with a $80/hr pay rate and no benefits provided.

Flexibility in scheduling is required and RN license eligibility in VA is necessary. Requirements include an associate/bachelor/diploma in nursing and current TNCC certification, plus current EPIC system experience.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include RN degrees (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC).
• Virginia RN license eligible is required at minimum.
• At least 2 years of recent hospital emergency department experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process with assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Deliver safe, high-quality ED care and coordinate with the team to promote patient outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education Associate's Degree - Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
• Diploma in Nursing
• Certification/Licensure REQUIRED ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in VA

Experience

• AT LEAST 2 years of RECENT HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPT as an RN
• REQUIRED CURRENT TNCC CERTIFICATION
• REQUIRED EPIC user
• STRONGLY preferred

Duties/Responsibilities

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
