This is a 22-bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides high-quality, patient-centered clinical carePerforms initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e., physical, psychological, educational, and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological/developmental age of the patient).Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources to meet the needs of the patient and family.Develops and documents plan of care, treatment, and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient's needs, strengths, limitations and goals.Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, including policies governing safety, medication administration, and documentation.Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to the Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
