Job summary

UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital in Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide evidence-based nursing care across a patient care team, under Unit Director supervision. You\'ll assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, document in EMR, administer meds, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with physicians and staff.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN, pursuing BSN preferred, with active Florida RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for assigned patients.
• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care while adhering to evidence-based practices and organizational standards.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and effectively.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes promptly to the healthcare team.
• Promote patient safety by following infection prevention, restraint, and quality care protocols.
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to support positive patient outcomes.
• Supervise and appropriately delegate patient care activities to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Nurse Techs, and Unit Secretaries.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, mandatory education, and competency training.
• Serve as a mentor or preceptor for new team members and nursing students, as appropriate.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
