Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Surgical Unit. This night shift role runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with 36 hours per week on a 3/12 schedule and rotating weekends. New grads are welcome, with sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Licensing and BLS requirements apply. The position focuses on postoperative care, assessments, medication administration, and family communication, in a fast-paced, collaborative team

Qualifications

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assessing/admitting patients and providing initial assessment.
• Rounding checks and administering medications.
• Communicating with family members about patient care.
• Ensuring overall care of patients in the Inpatient Surgical Unit.
• Collaborating with surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to deliver post‑operative care.

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Surgical Unit.

Hours: (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Shift: Nights

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 36 hours (3/12 Hours )

Weekend: Rotating

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is seeking motivated, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our fast-paced Inpatient Surgical Unit, primarily serving the CarePlex postoperative patient population. Our unit experiences a quick turnover of patients and provides care for patients with complex needsacross a wide range of surgical specialties, including:
