Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA seeks an OR Registered Nurse on a part-time basis with rotating shifts. You will circulate and scrub for a broad range of surgical cases, including cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures, while growing robotics skills.

Expect pre-, intra-, and post-op patient assessments, collaboration with the surgical team, and education for patients and families. Training provided and opportunities for professional growth exist.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an RN program required.
• Current RN Licensure in Iowa or qualified multistatelicensure required.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases with training provided.
• Participate in high-acuity cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Grow skills in robotics with hands-on experience in leading surgical tech.
• Assess patient needs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively and respond to changes.
• Collaborate with surgical team to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-op care.
• Support and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education, team meetings and quality initiatives.
• Float to other units or adjust shifts as needed to support patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an RN program required.
• Current RN Licensure in the state of Iowa, or qualified multistate licensure required
