Job summary

Mercyhealth is hiring an RN for the night shift in Wisconsin to provide compassionate nursing care across units. You will administer medications, perform assessments, and document care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to implement the patient plan.

Requirements include an accredited nursing program, ADN at minimum (BSN preferred), WI RN license, CPR/BLS within 90 days, and at least 2 years of experience. Mercyhealth offers competitive pay and benefits.

OVERVIEWProvides compassionate nursing care to patients in a clinical setting while supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission and values. May include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call hours. May also float to different units based on staffing needs and clinical competency. Performs other related duties as assigned.Schedule: 36 hours per weekShift: NightsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.Documents according to standards of care.Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and-or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units and-or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.Offers ideas and-or solutions to practice issues.Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.Provides innovative ways to educate patient-familiesInitiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needs.Actively participates in mentoring and precepting new partners to the organization.Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.Engages in personal development and supports system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines.Actively participates in a minimum of 1 departmental or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited nursing program.ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.Minimum of 2 years experience required.CERTIFICATION/LICENSURELicensed as an RN in state of practiceApproved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysOther certification(s) per unit requirements.
