Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Surgical II – Ortho/Trauma team in Wilmington, NC, caring for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and traumatic injuries. The role operates on a 7pm-7am full-time schedule within the Post-Operative unit.

Qualified candidates hold a NC nursing license (or multi-state/compact), with a BSN preferred and at least one year of acute care experience. BLS certification is required to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current North Carolina nursing license or Multi-State/Compact license is required.
• One year of acute nursing experience is required.
• BLS certification through Red Cross or American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized post-operative care for orthopedic, trauma, vascular, spine, and chest tube surgery patients.
• Manage care of patients with external fixators and multi-system injuries.
• Apply post-operative unit expertise distinct from standard medical-surgical nursing.
• Utilize advanced knowledge and skills specific to post-operative patient management.
