Job summary

Advocate Health in Davidson, NC is seeking an experienced RN for the Mountain Laurel 22‑bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit, serving mood disorders, psychosis, and dual diagnoses. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering trauma‑informed, patient‑centered care grounded in best practices.

You will coordinate nursing care, use evidence‑based practice, and contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without a BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer and must complete the program within 3 years of enrollment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Two or more years of nursing experience preferred, with Behavioral Health experience highly preferred.

The Mountain Laurel unit at Behavioral Health Davidson is a 22‑bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit serving individuals with mood disorders, psychosis, and dual diagnoses involving both psychiatric conditions and alcohol and/or substance use disorders. The unit is supported by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, psychiatric technicians, social workers, recreational and occupational therapists, spiritual care providers, and peer support specialists. Care on the unit is grounded in a patient‑centered practice model and incorporates trauma‑informed care principles throughout all patient interactions and treatment approaches.

Using evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
