Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Specialty Care Transport Nurse in Edison, New Jersey. This position requires the application of specialized critical care principles in patient care both out of hospital and interfacility. Candidates must possess various certifications including Advanced Cardiac Life Support and a New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License. The ideal applicant will be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing and demonstrate proficiency in advanced life support treatment.

Job description

The Specialty Care Transport Nurse will utilize the nursing process and established best practices to assess, plan, evaluate and document nursing care of patients in both the out of hospital and interfacility environments. They will understand and apply specialized critical care principles and techniques including basic and advanced life support treatment.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

1. Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
2. Demonstrates the ability to successfully complete orientation and all associated competencies including but not limited to IABP, Impella, EVD, ventilator management.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

• BSN License

Certifications Required

1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
2. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
3. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
4. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within 60 days of entering position.
5. Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
6. Prehospital Trauma Life Support Certification or Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification within 60 days of entering position.
7. Emergency Medical Technician Certification New Jersey within 60 days of entering position.
8. Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 60 days of entering position.
9. Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification (MICP) or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse certification (MICN) required for 911/Advanced Life Support response only. Appropriate nursing candidates can be trained by EMS for the MICN if the MICP is not held by applicant.
