Job summary

American Training in Massachusetts seeks a Registered Nurse to join our Specialized Housing Program. You will coordinate health care supports, assess Residents, and communicate medical changes to leadership, ensuring care aligns with best practices.

The role requires a MA RN license in good standing, at least two years of experience with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the ability to train colleagues in medical devices and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Nursing degree and MA RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of MAP regulations and Department of Developmental Services regulations is a plus.
  • Satisfactory CORI required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and direct nursing health care to Residents as prescribed by Health Care Professionals.
  • Communicate medical changes/needs/concerns to Residential and Clinical leadership and colleagues.
  • Coordinate medical supports including emergency treatment as required.
  • Assume direct nursing care for all program Residents.
  • Train colleagues and ensure competency in special medical needs/medical devices (e.g., VNS, Thick-It).
