Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Special Procedures unit to plan and implement professional nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and to assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. This role requires an Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's preferred) and current North Carolina RN licensure or a compact state license.

Summary

Major Job Functions

• Assesses the patient and identifies patient care needs
• Uses patient assessment information to organize appropriate patient care
• Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates patient care
• Facilitates a safe environment

• Functions as charge nurse as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education And Formal Training

• Associate's degree in nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure

Unit Description

• Special Procedures is a procedural unit providing Interventional Radiology services to Renal, Oncology, Emergency/Trauma, and Cardiovascular patients
• Our Care Team consists of Radiology Registered Nurses, Radiology Technologists, Physicians (Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Cardiologists), and Special Procedures Supervisor
• Working hours are 0700-1730, but we are available 24/7
• Overnight hours and weekends are covered by a call team utilized for emergencies only

Work Experience

• Greater than one year of experience in Radiology, Interventional Radiology or critical care nursing
• This role requires a high level of empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, high attention to detail, and proficiency in medical imaging equipment

• Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills
• Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically served

• Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
